Kamienica, KÅ‚odzko County

Kamienica ( German Kamnitz ) is a village in the powiat Kłodzki in the Province of Lower Silesia in Poland. It belongs to the urban and rural community Stronie Śląskie, whose main town is six kilometers south.

Geography and climate

Kamienica is located on the same river in the southeast of the Glatzer boiler in Śnieżnik Mountains. Neighboring towns are Kletno and Stara Morawa in the north, Bolesławów in the northeast, Nowa Morawa in the east and Nová Seninka in the south. To the southwest is the 1425 m high Glatzer Schneeberg. Beyond the ridge runs at a distance of about two kilometers, the border with the Czech Republic.

History

Kamnitz was created in 1596 and subsequently measured as a wood working class neighborhood. It was as an independent village community to the county of Glatz and was in possession of the Bohemian chamber. In 1684 it consisted of 20 men and five cottagers. In that year it acquired along with other chamber villages in the district of Landeck Glatzer Governor Michael Wenzel of Althann. He trained the acquired Dorfschaften dominion mountain side.

After the Silesian Wars Kamnitz coincided with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. Beginning of the 19th century, it consisted of 26 gardeners and 14 smallholdings. After the reorganization of Prussia belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was first incorporated into the county of Glatz. 1818 was reclassified in the county Habelschwerdt with which it was connected until 1945. Since 1874, the country seat of the municipality was Kamnitz office district of the same name. This was laid in 1908 by William Dale. Since the end of the 19th century Kamnitz became a popular recreation and winter sports. 1939 counted 583 inhabitants.

As a result of World War II Kamnitz fell to Poland and was renamed Kamienica. The number of inhabitants declined significantly and was in the 1990s less than 10 % of the population by 1939. Thereby most of the houses were left to decay. In the years 1975-1998 Kamienica belonged to the province Wałbrzych. Since the political changes of 1989 increases the tourist importance of Kamienica.

Colony Neukamnitz

The colony Neukamnitz was created in 1792 by the then landlord of the mountain side, the royal counselor Franz Bernhard von Mutius on oxbows and Gellenau. It consisted of six houses and also belonged to the village community Kamnitz.
