Kanadukathan (Tamil: கானாடுகாத்தான் Kāṉāṭukāttāṉ [ ka ː na ː ɖɯ ˌ ka ː t ː a ː n]) is a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu with around 5,300 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). It is located in the district of Sivaganga twelve kilometers north of the city Karaikkudi on the road to Tirumayam.

The small town is next to Kanadukathan Karaikkudi the most famous place of the Chettinad region. Chettinad is the home of the merchant caste of Nattukottai Chettiar who brought it in Southeast Asia during the British colonial period in the 19th century to considerable wealth and built in their hometowns with the newly acquired money opulent estate. One of the richest and most influential Chettiar families, the family of the Raja of Chettinad, comes from Kanadukathan. The hereditary title of " Raja of Chettinad " was awarded in 1929 by the British Crown to the merchant and philanthropist Annamalai Chettiar ( 1881-1948 ). In Kanadukathan there is a particularly high density of Chettinad estate whose most outstanding is the palace of Raja of Chettinad. While this is still inhabited by the family of the Raja of Chettinad, other properties have been converted into hotels, so that tourism is to step up to become an important economic factor in Kanadukathan.
