Kang Sue-jin

Kang Sue -jin ( born April 24, 1967 in Seoul) is a South Korean ballet dancer. She is a prima ballerina at the Stuttgart Ballet.

She is particularly known for dramatic roles, like that of Tatiana in Onegin.

Biography

Kang Sue -jin learned as a young girl Korean folk dance in her hometown of Seoul in South Korea. Only after she began with ballet classes, and moved to Europe in 1982 to Marika Besobrasova to the Académie de Danse Classique Princesse Grace in Monte Carlo. In 1985 she became the first Asian to the Prix de Lausanne.

On September 1, 1986 Kang was the youngest member of the corps de ballet in the history of the Stuttgart Ballet at the age of 19 years. Under Marcia Haydée, she was promoted to Principal Dancer in 1994 for soloist and Reid Anderson 1997.

She married on 12 January 2002 their manager Twinch Shokman, a former dancer.

In January 2013, she published her autobiography in Korean. In December 2013, she was appointed successor by Choi Tae -ji as a director of the Korea National Ballet by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Your appointment includes the three years 2014 through 2016.
