Kanjani Eight

Kanjani ∞ (Japanese関 ジャニ ∞, Kanjani eight; meaning: Kan derived from Kansai and Jani derived from Johnny's ) are a Japanese boy band of Johnny & Associates, whose members are drawn from the Kansai region.

They are next to KAT -TUN and NEWS one of the most successful newcomer bands of the organization, their celebrity status has increased in recent years tremendously in Japan. The band was founded in 2002, but made her debut as ' Johnny's modern enka group " only in the year 2004.

Although they were still classified in the genre of Enkas and numerous sales records broke in this genre, they can now have a wide range of musical genres - from rock and pop, to ballads and blues to funk and jazz, including some of her songs presented comedy way be such as Sukiyanen, Osaka, one of her most popular songs.

Kanjani ∞ have the reputation of being particularly funny and loud. Biography

Most members of Kanjani ∞ entered Johnny's Entertainment as Kansai Junior's to 1996 - in 1997. They were part of the " Golden Era " of the Juniors. Led by Hideaki Takizawa ( Tackey & Tsubasa ), the former Juniors generation already able to conquer at this time many fans what zugutekam also Kanjani ∞ members.

After Uchi Hiroki 1999 Johnny 's Entertainment joined, a new Kansai Junior unit named V. West was founded. The band consisted of Uchi Hiroki (vocals), Shota Yasuda (guitar), Maruyama Ryuhei ( bass), Mizuno Kiyohito (guitar) and Imayama Toru (drums). V West had a regular television program called Weekly V West, which aired on Kansai TV. The band was popular enough to hold a private concert. Imayama and Toru Mizuno Kiyohito left V West and Johnny 's Entertainment, however.

Okura Tadayoshi, the eighth Kanjani ∞ member, had actually also a V West to be a member. However, since he was interested in more for dancing, he refused the offer. When Johnny Kitagawa an eighth member of Kanjani ∞ sought and the position of drummer was not yet occupied, Okura decided to learn it and so Kanjani ∞ were established in 2000.

2001-2003

In 2001, the activities of the Kansai Juniors reduced drastically, since they could not gain so much popularity, as was hoped. The listed 2001 musical Another, ultimately yielded the desired success. Since then led Kanjani ∞, supported by the Kansai Juniors until 2006 every summer, a piece on. However, it took two more years before their shows were sold out.

After Another most famous Kansai Juniors had the opportunity to moderate their own show. Weekly V West was reborn as ' J ° Kansai ( Kansai JCube ). The "comeback" ended with a Christmas concert, another event which was Kanjani8 every year until 2005 at the Osaka Shochiku -za Theater organized.

Although Kanjani ∞ were still to be regarded as a new unit, two members Uchi Hiroki and Nishikido Ryo were surprisingly to be Johnny's new unit NEWS. From then on, the two had to overcome their activities in two bands.

2004-2005

Kanjani ∞ their activities focused heavily on the Kansai region. The Osaka Shochiku -za theater was for them something where they could build a loyal following as a local venue.

Kanjani ∞ occurred the first time in 2004 at the once a year held Yagura Dance Bon Odori Festival in Osaka -jo Hall on when Yokoyama and Murakami were told that they would debut in the Enka genre. The other band members learned of it only later by a newspaper article.

On 25 August 2004, certain only for the Kansai region Naniwa Iroha Bushi limited single was released. The song was a hit and made it, although the sale was limited only to the Kansai region, in 8th place on the Oricon singles chart. Therefore, the single was released nationwide on 22 September 2004 and ran the first place of the charts and was also the first enka single after seventeen years, who succeeded in doing so.

The nationwide release marked the official debut of the two -year-old band. Kanjani ∞ held their first concert Kansha ni Eight in Tokyo in Tokyo on 11 November 2004.

On 15 December 2004 their first mini - album Kansha ni Eight was published. The Christmas concert was recorded in 2004 and the following year as their first concert DVD ( Excite!! ) Released.

2004 had Kanjani ∞ KAT -TUN together with also in the musical DREAM BOY, Hideaki Takizawa in the starred with. The two bands played well especially in 2005 and 2006 a major role in this musical.

The Singles from Kanjani ∞ sold despite comparatively little advertising continues to be good. Their second single Osaka Rainy Blues, which was released on 2 March 2005, reached after the first week a sales figure of more than 160,000 copies.

On September 14, managed her single ' Sukiyanen, Osaka! but only at No. 2, as it was no match for Ayumi Hamasaki's publication.

In 2005 she had the first time a big concert in Osaka -jo Hall Zenyasai. Unfortunately, they could not completely deny this event, since Hiroki Uchi was suspended from Johnny's.
