Kankan Region

Kankan is a region of Guinea. It lies in the east of the country, bordering Mali and the Ivory Coast. Its capital is the same Kankan. The region has about 917,000 inhabitants and covers the prefectures of Kankan, Kérouané, Kouroussa, Mandiana and Siguiri. These are each named after their capital.

Kankan largely corresponds to the geographical region of Upper Guinea.
