Karambar-Pass

The Karambar Pass ( also Karomber Kromber or passport) with an altitude of about 4300 m is a high mountain pass in Pakistan.

This pass connects the valley of Yarkhun River in the upper Chitral district with the valley of the Karambar River in the district of Ishkoman of Ghizer District. The pass is located about 2 kilometers from about 4 km long Karambersee away to the west, is dammed by an ice barrier and feeds the Karambar River. The pent-up waters of the lake have shaped the Karambar Valley in the past and flooded more times and led to destruction. He threatened to this day the downhill located villages.

The Karambar River is also known as Ishkoman River and flows into the river at Ghizer Gahkuch and is there to Gilgit River.

In the south of the pass of Dusuk, a 5748 m high mountain located. It forms the border triangle Pakistan, Kashmir and Afghanistan. About 25 kilometers from the Karambar Pass is the Broghol Pass.
