Geography

Karantaba Tenda is located in the Central River Region in the district Sami at an altitude of 11 m and is about thirteen kilometers east of Janjanbureh away. The village is located approximately 1.7 kilometers from the shore of the Gambia River away.

History

The African explorer Mungo Park held here in Pisania how the place used to be called, in 1795 some time before he embarked on his journey into the interior of the continent east to Niger.
