Sami District
Sami ( spelling variant: Sami Kuntaur ) is one of 35 districts - the second highest level of administrative divisions - the West African nation of Gambia. It is one of ten districts in the Central River Region.
According to a calculation by 2013 there live about 21 229 inhabitants, the result of the last published census of 2003 was 19,157.

According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest population group, the Mandinka with a share of about six -tenths, followed by the Fula and Wolof. The distribution in detail: 55% of Mandinka, Fula 29.9%, 12% Wolof, Jola 0.3 %, 0.4% Serahule, 0 % Serer, Aku 0%, 0 % Manjago, 0.5% Bambara and 2 % other ethnicities.
