According to a survey of 1993 ( former census ), the largest ethnic group of the Fula with a share of about six -tenths, followed by the Mandinka and the Wolof. The distribution in detail: Mandinka 27.3%, 57.6% Fula, Wolof 11%, Jola 0.1 %, 1.1% Serahule, 0.5% Serer, Aku 0%, 0.4% Manjago, 1, 2% Bambara and 0.8% other ethnicities.
