Karen Young (American singer)
Karen Young ( born March 23, 1951 in Philadelphia, † 26 January 1991) was an American disco singer and pianist. Her biggest hit was 1978 Hot Shot.
Biography
Karen Young grew up in a terraced house in Northeast Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on. Initially she worked as a jingle and background singer for local production companies. In the early 1970s, she performed with the group ' sand dunes ' on.
Andy Kahn and Kurt Borusiewicz wrote, arranged and produced for Young 1978 Title Hot Shot. Executive producer was Walter " Kandor " Kahn. With this single, the singer into a star overnight and reached number 1 on the Billboard dance charts ( Dance Music / Club Play Singles ) and number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100 In the United Kingdom ( 34th ) and Germany was ( space 42) made it to the disco anthem in the charts. Remixes by hot shot up in 1979 ( 75th place ) and 1997 ( 68th place ) in the UK single charts. You Do not Know What You've Got in 1983, the only other song by the American, who was able to reach a chart position (UK number 91 ).
1979 Andy Kahn wrote the title rendezvous with Me for Karen Young. The potential sequel to be a hot shot, however, was not finished manufactures. It was not until 2008, the recordings resurfaced. The MaxRoxx team, DJ Paul Goodyear and DJ Zathan Radix now whip up new versions of the original soundtracks. The single was released in 2009.
Karen Young died on 26 January 1991 a bleeding ulcer.
