Kari Laitinen

Kari Juhani Laitinen ( born April 9, 1964 in Vantaa ) is a retired Finnish professional ice hockey player.

Career

Kari Laitinen began his career as a hockey player with Jokerit Helsinki, for the first team to 1987 he was active from 1985 in the SM- liiga, the top Finnish league. Subsequently, the winger played for six years for their league rival HIFK Helsinki. In the season 1987/88 he was elected to the All-Star team of the SM - liiga. The 1993/94 season he spent at Jokipojat in the second-class I- divisioona. Then he ran for a year depending on the ASG Angers and the Chamonix Hockey Club in the French Ligue Élite. Most recently, he was from 1996 to 1998 for the Pelicans Lahti in the I- divisioona on the ice before he ended his career at the age of 34 years.

Internationally

For Finland Laitinen participated in the Olympic Winter Games in 1988 in part in Calgary, where he won the silver medal with his team. For this success he contributed three goals and two assists in seven games.
