Kari Mäkinen

Kari Mäkinen ( born January 5, 1955 in Pori ) is a Finnish clergyman. He is Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Turku.

Life

Mäkinen studied for his schooling Protestant theology in Finland. After graduation, he worked as a curate in the parish Ulvila. Since 2006, Mäkinen Bishop of Turku. The episcopate exists alongside the Archbishop office as a second furnished ministry in the Archdiocese of Turku. In June 2010, Mäkinen was elected Archbishop. It is thus head of the whole Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland.

Mäkinen is married with Eija Mäkinen. The couple has four children.
