Karin Seick

Karin Seick ( born November 11, 1961 in Winsen ( Luhe) ) is a former German swimmer.

Career

1978 won Karin Seick in Berlin the first title in the 100 meters butterfly with German record. At the World Championships in the same place she swam in her best discipline on the 4th Place. 1982 Karin Seick received from the hands of the Federal President, the highest sporting award, the Silver Laurel Leaf. Then they celebrated their biggest success, winning the bronze medal at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles about 4 × 100 meter medley and bronze over 4 × 100 -meter freestyle and 100 -meter butterfly.

Karin Seick was a member of SG wiste, start a community of clubs in Winsen (Luhe ) and point at the height of her career. In 1987 she moves to the SG Hamburg. There they presented on 10 February 1990 the club record on the 25-meter track in the 100 meters freestyle with a time of 0:55,61 min. In 1992 Karin Seick returns as Senior swimmer to SG wiste and wins along with Claudia Lipski (formerly Döhrmann ) four titles at the national championships seniors. At the World Masters Championships in Munich in 2000 Seick won four gold medals. At the German Championships 2006 in Dresden, she won several titles again and beat it repeated its rival Barbara Gellrich.
