Karkopf

The Karkopf is with 1738 m the highest peak of the entire bar Mountains. It lies right on the border between the municipality Bavarian Gmain ( district forestry St. Zeno ) in the west and the town of Berchtesgaden ( district bishop Reported forest ) in the east.

Owing to the good view over the whole massif of the mountain is a popular hiking area. Unterberg, Hoher Goll and watzmann can be seen in the south, and Zwiesel Hochstaufen in the north. You can climb to the summit by various parties, eg on the pulpit or on the Törlschneid of Winkl. The increase over the Alpgartensteig easy ferrata character with some ladders, stairs and safety ropes. The way is only suitable for experienced hikers, since you have to be afraid of heights and sure-footed. From the top, you can hike to the mountain station of the Predigtstuhlbahn, and reach the cable car Bad Reichenhall. Also the way to Stone Agnes and Rotofen is possible.
