Karl Angerer

Karl Angerer ( born July 18, 1979 in Berchtesgaden ) is a former German bob pilot.

Karl Angerer of the WSV Koenigssee operation since 1999 bobsledding. His international career began in 2003 with a fourth place in the two- and one second place in the four-man event at the Junior World Championships in Koenigssee. The following year he was third in the same competition in Cortina d' Ampezzo in both classes.

2004 debuted Angerer in the European Cup. With the quad sport soldier won in Igls and was with the two others. The following season he won the two again in Igls and finished second in two in Koenigssee. He qualified for the World Cup and made his debut there at the race in Igls, but was only 12 and sent back to the European Cup. In the season followed in the European Cup, a second place ( quad) in Winterberg and a third place in St. Moritz ( quad). At the German Junior Championships in 2005 he was German champion in two classes. During a fall in Cortina itself Angerer injured in the season hard on the neck vertebrae.

In the season 2005/ 06 Angerer launched initially only in the European Cup and won the race in Igls ( quad) and Koenigssee (two and four ). After two third places at the German Championships he moved up to the World Cup. After a seventh place in Koenigssee ( quad) followed in Altenberg, a fifth (two ) and a fourth place finish in Altenberg. The following season, Angerer managed with his team the breakthrough in the World Cup and in the top. In Koenigssee he was with the two-man bob with brakeman Marc Kühne behind the Canadians and reigning world champion Pierre Lueders and brakeman Lascelles Brown whose Second, even after he finished the first passage lying to square one. The following day he was also third with the four-man event. Angerer Thus qualified for a qualifying race against Matthias Hoepfner to the second German starting place alongside André Lange at the 2007 World Championships in St. Moritz. In the second race of the season 2008/ 09 in Altenberg Angerer was surprisingly win the World Cup race in the big carriage, he benefited from the demolition of the second passage after a fall. His second win in four, he won 11 January 2009 on his home track in Koenigssee.

The team Angerer belong in the season 2009/10 Gregor Bermbach, Alexander, Alexander Roediger and the substitute Andreas Bredau.
