Karl Lustenberger

Karlslust Berger ( born October 10, 1952 in Marbach ) is a former Swiss skier, who was successful on the international ski jumping and Nordic combined.

Career

Lust Berger, who started for the SC Marbach, celebrated his first international success with the launch at the Olympic Winter Games in Innsbruck in 1976. With only 23 years, the only Swiss combiner was at the games. In singles, the combination he reached for a good jumping with space 10 and a streaky cross-country skiing at the end of the 19th Place.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1978 in Lahti, he started in the team in the ski jumping. Together with Walter Steiner, Hans Jörg Sumi and Robert Mösching he reached seventh place and, in some of the large hill Rank 43

When Hollmenkollen Ski Festival 1979 Lust Berger won the individual competition of the Nordic combined for the first time. He also secured the starting place for the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid. There he took up ski jumping and in combination. In ski jumping individual after he landed jumps on 98 and 95 meters on the 30th place. In singles, the combination he was able to increase his jumping performance again. After passing two he was at times in third place before he finished the sixth jump. After rank 14 also achieved a good result in cross-country, he was at the end of the sixth single overall.

In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1982 in Oslo, he started once again in the team at the Kombiniereren. With the team he reached the sixth. In special jumping the now 29 -year-old failed to boot up.

After the end of his active career, like Berger engaged as Technical Delegate to the FIS and the FISU. He is an honorary member of the Lucerne Snow Sports Association. As early as 1983 he published his thesis under the title Nordic Combined: A survey on the patterning of the training in the preparation period.
