Karl Ridderbusch

Karl Busch Ridder (* May 29, 1932 in Recklinghausen, † June 21, 1997 in Wels, Austria ) was a German singer ( bass). He looked at all the famous opera houses in Europe and was chamber singer at the Vienna State Opera.

Career

Ridder Busch wanted to become technicians. He was discovered shock in a singing contest from the famous opera tenor Rudolf, who also co-financed his vocal training. From 1955 he studied at the Duisburg Conservatory, 1957-1961 at the Folkwang School in Essen.

Karl Busch Ridder made ​​his debut in 1961 in Münster. From 1963 to 1965 he was a permanent member of the Essen ensembles. During this three-year commitment, he took over the major opera roles from the works of Wagner, Strauss and Verdi, which helped him quickly to considerable fame. In 1965 he became a member of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dusseldorf and Duisburg ( Sparafucile, Boris Godunov, Hunding ). In 1967 he made ​​his debut in Bayreuth, where his international career began to take. Until 1975, when he resigned in a dispute with the festival management in Bayreuth, he sang on the Green Hill all major roles in his field, including Henry the Fowler, Hans Sachs, King Marke, Hagen, Daland and Hunding, but also smaller roles such as Titurel, Fasolt, Fafner and Pogner.

Achievements

Karl Busch Ridder had a sonorous voice of the highest expressiveness combined with technical proficiency; it included two whole octaves and has made him one of the most famous vocalists of his time. In the Opera House his voice penetrated easily the most powerful orchestra, with great brilliance, he claimed his bel canto same sound even at loud passages. In addition to his musical finesse made ​​the powerfully built singers on the operatic stage an imposing appearance. Among his most important roles of the ox are in Der Rosenkavalier, the Hunding in Die Walküre or Hagen in Götterdämmerung. Ridder bush but also of light entertainment was not locked and loved to sing operettas and popular songs, which he was known by the general public.

Karl Ridder Busch was married to an Austrian from catfish. He died of a severe heart disease and liver failure at the age of only 65 years after it was only the day before returned from the Welser hospital to home.
