Karlova Studánka

Karlova Studánka ( German Bad Karlsbrunn ) is a spa town in the district Bruntál in the Czech Republic. In 2006 he had 226 inhabitants.

Karlova Studánka is one of the most beautiful resorts in the Czech Republic thanks to its favorable climate and its location in the landscape. The spa facilities include a sanatorium for the treatment of patients with diseases of the respiratory organs. The benefits of pure mountain air is occupied. In particular, the iron-containing sources and Sauerbrunnen are famous. The spa buildings from the early 19th century are an interesting architectural design. In the immediate vicinity of the highest with 1,491 m Praděd also lies the highest peak of Moravia. From Karlova Studánka both sides lead the White Oppa ( Bila Opava ) Hiking trails in the mountain region.

History

By early 1803, the community was the German name and was Hinnewieder as mining settlement known. It was mined iron ore. After the discovery of the first sources in 1785 were built by Maximilian Franz of Austria, the first bath house. The first spa guests put the place Hinnewieder the nickname ( now and then ), because they traveled to and from every day because there was not sufficient accommodation. Later, after the discovery of other sources, including the guest houses were built. Significantly, both Maximilian, and Charles of Austria -Teschen preferred the seaside resort. In honor of Archduke Charles, the town was renamed in 1803 in Bad Karlsbrunn.
