Karur (Tamil: கரூர் Karūr [ kaɾu ː r] ) is a city in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located in the central inland Tamil Nadu on Amravathi, a tributary of the Kaveri, about 75 kilometers west of Tiruchirappalli, and about 330 kilometers southwest of Chennai, the capital of the state.
