Katrine Holm is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Södermanland County and the historic province of Södermanland. The main town of the municipality is Katrine Holm. Other villages in the municipality are Bie, Björkvik, Forssjö, Julita / Äsköping, Sköldinge, Strångsjö and Valla.

History

The area around Katrine Holm has been inhabited for more than 6000 years. Some remains as Glysas grave can be visited at Katrine Holm.

The community Katrine Holm was formed in 1971 by merging the former municipalities Katrin Holm, Björkvik, Floda, Julita, Sköldinge and Stora Malm.

Attractions

Katrine Holm is surrounded by many lakes. The best known are the Kolsnaren and viruses. The most interesting places are the theme park Djulö, Open Air Museum Julita and the Eric Berg Castle.
