Geography

Kautzen located in the northern Waldviertel in Lower Austria, the area of ​​the market municipality covers 35.41 square kilometers. 35.37 percent of the area is forested.

History

Kautzen was first documented in 1212 ( certificate in the monastery archives Michaelbeuern ). In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place informed the eventful history of Austria. Culture and sights
