Kay Walsh

Kay Walsh ( born August 27, 1914 in London, † April 16, 2005 in London) was a British dancer and actress.

Life

Growing up is the Irish -born Kay Walsh along with her sister Peggy with her grandmother in Pimlico. She began her career as a dancer in a revue by Andre Charlot as a chorus dancer. Later, she was a principal dancer in New York and Berlin. She also explores appeared in plays and revues. In 1934, she discovered a talent scout, and she became an actress. In the 1930s and 1940s Kay Walsh was one of the leading female actresses in Britain. In addition, she co-authored with Ronald Neame, Cecil McGivern and David Lean on the screenplay for Great Expectations (1946 ) based on the novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

From 1940 to 1949 Walsh was married to the director David Lean. The marriage ended in divorce. After she was married from 1949 to 1956 with a Canadian psychologist.
