Cone head from Älpelesattel

The cone head is a 1,959 meter high Grasberg in the Allgäu Alps, which are two distinct peaks points ( 1,959 m and 1,937 m). It separates the Dietersbachtal and Traufbachtal and, together with the Fürschießer a part of the typical Allgäu mountains south of Oberstdorf.

Ascent

On the cone head cause no marked trails, but only a hard -to-find Jägersteig. Therefore, it is mostly climbed by locals. Like the other grass mountains of the Allgäu Alps, the cone head a very interesting botany, which can be compared especially in the down leading to the Alpe Krauter Southeast back to that of Höfats or worm.

The gable Alpe lying on the south side of the cone head is no longer farmed for many decades. Therefore, the more marked in older maps routes are now expired.
