Keith Harding

Keith Harding ( born 1938 ) is a Scottish politician.

Harding visited the Chipping Norton Grammar School and studied at Oxford. He then worked in banking. In 1986 he was elected member of the Council of Stirling, which he remained until 2003 and was eventually replaced by his wife. In the first parliamentary elections to the newly created Scottish Parliament Harding was set to the first list position of the Conservative Party for choosing Region Mid Scotland and Fife, however, did not occur as a candidate in one of the constituencies. On the basis of the election results, he moved as one of three candidates of the Conservative Party in Parliament. In the publications of the new electoral lists for the parliamentary elections in 2003 Harding was only to be found on the list futile fifth place, which is why after 20 years he changed party affiliation from the Conservative Party to the Scottish People's Alliance after the expiration of his term. For this party, he joined the parliamentary elections of 2003, both as a direct candidate for the constituency of Stirling and on the first list position for Mid Scotland and Fife. In the constituency Stirling Harding was by far the fewest votes of the six candidates, the party remained in Mid Scotland and Fife with 0.48 % of votes cast chance.
