Kelly Asbury

Kelly Adam Asbury ( born January 15, 1960 in Beaumont, Texas ' ) is an American film director and screenwriter

Life

Because of his early enthusiasm for drawing Asbury wrote the age of 17 to be working a letter to Disney asking for future productions. To own surprise, he received a response from the production manager to try it with a trainee program. And so visited Asbury after a stopover at Lamar University from 1978 to 1980, the California Institute of the Arts. There he studied at the same time with Rob Minkoff, Chris Sanders, Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale. After a brief stopover as storyboard artist at The Littles began his career at Disney, with the collaboration of Taran and the Magic Cauldron. By 1995, with his last project at Disney Toy Story he stayed and worked on films such as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and The Nightmare Before Christmas. He then moved to DreamWorks and was allowed to Spirit - Stallion of the Cimarron lead for the first time directing an animated film. For Shrek 2 - The daring hero returns and Shrek the Third Asbury was also first worked as a voice actor. His current film, which was released in theaters in 2011, Gnomeo and Juliet. Already in mid- January 2006, producer Baker Bloodworth got in touch with him and offered to perform at Gnomeo and Juliet Director. Then Asbury worked in recent years with the singer Elton John and British actors Patrick Stewart and Michael Caine in this project.

Fascinated by the art of ventriloquism since childhood, he wrote a book about five known ventriloquist of the 20th century. Over 10 years he tried to leave publish the book before he was with Angel City Press a publisher who published the book Dummy Days 2003.

Asbury was married on 9 November 1990 to March 2006, the illustrator Loretta Weeks. Both had, met the mermaid during production to Arielle.
