Kemal Unakıtan

Kemal Unakıtan ( born February 14, 1946 at the village Domurcalı, Edirne Province) is a Turkish economist, politician and Minister of Finance.

Unakıtan graduated from the Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences in Ankara.Danach he worked as a calculation expert in the Finance Ministry.

Unakıtan was general manager and financial coordinator of Birko Commerce and Industry AG ( Birko Ticaret ve Sanayi A.Ş. ), Deputy Director General, Director General and member of the cellulose and paper factories of Turkey's governing body (Türkiye Selüloz ve Kagit Fabrikaları'nda ( SEKA ) ), Director General of textile company Bahariye ( Bahariye Mensucat ), member of the Executive Committee of Albaraka Türk financial Group, Vice President and Member of the Executive Committee of the BEM Foreign Trade Company and a member of the Supervisory Board of Family Finans financial Group.

Unakıtan was a member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi ( AKP) for the province of İstanbul in the 22nd legislative session of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He was also Minister of Finance in the 58th (Cabinet Gul ) and 59 ( I. Erdoğan Cabinet) Government of the Republic of Turkey. Unakıtan 's 2007 Member of the Cabinet of II Erdoğan AKP government under Erdogan in which he is re- finance minister since 29 August.

Unakıtan is married and has two children. He also speaks English in addition to Turkish.
