Kenneth Cheruiyot

Kenneth Cheruiyot ( born August 2, 1974) is a Kenyan long-distance runner, who had his greatest success in the marathon and half marathon.

In 1997, he presented at the 25 km from Berlin with 1:13:58 h a world record over this distance and was third on the World Half Marathon Championships. 1998 and 2001 he won the Grand Prix of Bern.

In 1999, he won the Monaco Marathon in a time of 2:11:26 h, the track record as lasted until 2009. However, he was best known for his appearances with the Rotterdam Marathon. In 2000 he won in 2:08:22 h, 2001, he was second in his personal best time of 2:07:18 h and 2002 he was also runner-up, although he crashed hard already at kilometer 10 and thereby broke an arm.

Kenneth Cheruiyot is married to Nancy Jebet Langat, Olympic champion in 2008 over 1500 m.
