Kenneth Ferrie

Kenneth Ferrie ( born September 28, 1978 in Ashington ) is an English professional golfer on the European Tour.

Ferrie won the 1996 British Boys Championship and subsequently received an invitation to a European Tour event in his home region, the Slaley Hall Northumberland Challenge, but never made it past the cut. In 1999 he became a professional golfer in 2000 and played mainly on the Challenge Tour, where he received his first tournament success - has seen - the Tessali Open del Sud. At the end of the season, Ferrie qualified on the Tour School for the European Tour, but could there not be said, and had to once again fight for the eligibility. Then in 2003 he achieved his first victory on the big tournament series with the Canarias Open de Espana and 2005, he managed to win one of the more significant titles that Smurfit European Open at the famous K Club in Ireland. He closed the year with a 11th place starting in the money list.

Kenneth Ferrie was a member of the victorious European team in the Royal Trophy 2006, a Ryder Cup -like comparison battle with the best Asian golfers.

At the U.S. Open in 2006 Ferrie was a long time in the spotlight of the golf world and led at times to the field. He eventually seized an outstanding 6th place, which guaranteed him a fixed starting places at next year Masters and the U.S. Open. In 2008 he tried his hand on the PGA Tour but did not make the 2009 and returned back to the European Tour.

After five winless years Ferrie won the Austrian Open in September 2011 and his third title on the European Tour.
