Kerry James Marshall

Kerry James Marshall ( born October 17, 1955 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American artist.

Life

Marshall studied at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. He sees himself as an artist who continues the historical painting in a new form. In 1997 he was represented at the documenta X in 2003 at the Venice Biennale in 2007 and at the documenta 12.

In 1997 he was MacArthur Fellow.
