Khakyab Dorje, 15th Karmapa Lama

Khakyab Dorje (Tib.: mkha ' rdo rje khyab; * 1871 in Tsang, † 1922) was the 15th Karmapa of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Biography

Khakyab Dorje was of Migyur Wangyel (1823-1883; 9 Gyelwang Drugpa ) - the vision of Pelden Lhamo had in which she was holding up a mirror which she indicated the place of birth of the Karmapa - found and enthroned. At the age of five he was able to contemplate the sutras. A cowlick between his eyebrows was seen as one of the signs of a Buddha. Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and also Khenchen Trashi Oser (1836-1910) were teachers of the 15th Karmapa.

Khakyab Dorje gave many teachings in many parts of Tibet and preserved many rare texts from ruin, by making them reprinted. The 15th Karmapa was not a monk. He had a girlfriend and two sons, one of whom Jamgon Kongtrul as Pelden Khyentse Oser (1904-1953; Jamgon Kongtrul the 2nd ) was recognized and one as Jamyang Rinpoche ( the 12th Shamar 1892-1946 ).
