Kiischpelt

Kiischpelt is a municipality in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, in the canton Wiltz. The municipality was created on 1 January 2006 by the merger of the municipalities Wilwerwiltz and Kautenbach. The seat of the municipality is in Wilwerwiltz.

Kiischpelt is one of the few communities that are not the name of a resort wear: De Kiischpelt is a name for the area in which, the individual towns. The name comes from the German word parish, which points to the old mother church of Pintsch.

Furthermore, it should be noted that Kiischpelt not of an international name, but is known only by its Luxembourg designation.

Attractions

Near Enscherange is the only point of intersection of an integer degree of longitude and latitude of an integer in Luxembourg (50 ° 0 ' 0 "N, 6 ° 0' 0" O506 ). At the intersection of " Kiischpelter sun circle " was created, so that the precise point is visible even without a GPS device.

In Enscherange itself is located at the Clerve the only operational preserved watermill ( with unterschlächtigem waterwheel ) in Ösling that Rackés Millen. It is now operated by the Tourist Center A Robbesscheier in Munshausen and can be visited.

The parish church of St. Maximin in Pintsch has a largely preserved baroque features from the workshop of Jean -Georges Scholtus from Bastogne (around 1680-1754 ). Also interesting are the Müller organ with its restored pneumatic action and the ringing of two bells from 1803 and four bells in 2003.

Worth seeing in the modern Willibrord Church in Wilwerwiltz is the 2010 installed, preserved in its original state Stahlhuth organ from 1914 that stood in Luxembourg -Limpertsberg originally in the Dominican convent. In addition, the church also has a peal of six bells worth listening to.

Throughout Kiischpelt you can still find large areas with so-called Lohhecken. This is an oak coppice to produce Lohe. It is dried oak bark, which is used as a tanning agent in the Altgrubengerbung. The Kiischpelt is one of the few places where is also still produced a significant degree Lohe.

Lellingen is a model village by the Luxembourg historic preservation with traditional Ösling houses. Near the village ( " Lorblumm " Narcissus pseudonarcissus, Luxembourgish ) is in " Lohr " is the only occurrence of the wild daffodil in Luxembourg. By " Large Lohr " runs today the " Via Botanica ".
