Kim Jong-nam

Kim Jong -nam ( born May 10, 1971 in Pyongyang, North Korea) is the eldest son of Kim Jong- il, the former ruler of North Korea. His mother was Sung Hae -rim, the second wife of Kim Jong -il.

Life

Kim Jong -nam said to have fallen out of favor in early 2000. He made headlines in 2001 when he was allegedly picked up on the way to Tokyo Disneyland using a forged passport in the Dominican Republic in Japan. According to media reports, Kim has since lived in Macau.

A Japanese newspaper reported in June 2009, Kim Jong -nam in Macau have asked for political asylum, after numerous people had been arrested from his environment on 3 April in Pyongyang.

It was long believed that Kim Jong -nam would one day succeed his father as head of state. However, in 2009 there were increasing signs that Kim Jong- il wanted to build his youngest son Kim Jong-un as his successor. After this had confirmed end of September 2010, Kim Jong -nam should have asked " Erbdynastie " the Kims in question in October 2010.

Kim Jong -nam is married with Ch'oe Hye -ri.
