Kim Jong-shin

Kim Jong -shin ( born May 17, 1970) is a former South Korean wrestler. He was world champion in 1989 and won at the 1992 Olympics, a silver medal each in free style in the light flyweight.

Career

Kim Jong -shin began as a teenager in 1984 with the rings. He belonged to the Sports Club Samsung Seoul and was at - ever trained by Wan. He started only in free style. At a size of 1.56 meters, he wrestled mostly in the lightest weight class in wrestling of men, the light flyweight, which had its weight limit at 48 kg. Towards the end of his career he moved to the next higher weight class, flying weight, with a weight limit of 52 kg body weight.

In 1987 he started for the first time at an international championship, the World Youth Championship ( espoir = to age 20 ) in Burnaby / Canada and won the light flyweight behind Gnel Medschlumjan, Soviet Union and Erin Millsap, United States, a bronze medal. A year later, in 1988, he won at the Junior World Championship ( Juniors = to turning 18 ) in Wolfurt / Austria then even the world title before Luvsan Sergelenbaatar from Mongolia. In December 1988, he even won at the Asian Championship in Islamabad in the light flyweight before Li Hak -son of North Korea. At the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, he has not yet been used.

In 1989, Kim Jong -shin at the Grand Prix of Germany in Bonn and finished there behind Romica Rasovan, Romania, but before Reiner Pitchfork from Germany 2nd place. At the Asia Championships 1989 in Oarai Ibarak / Japan, he finished 3rd behind Batbadral Hodognamu, Mongolia and Kim Soon- chol, North Korea. In the same year he came at the World Championships in Martigny, Switzerland, to his great success in his career, because he was there in the light flyweight before Li Hak -son, Gnel Medschlumjan and Ilyas Sükrüoglu, Turkey, world champion.

In the 1990 World Cup, Kim Jong -shin was not at the start. But he was in Beijing Asian champions before Ombir Singh, India and Hosbayar Tserenbataryn from Mongolia. In 1991 he took part in the World Championships in Varna. He won there in the light flyweight behind Wugar Orudschow, Soviet Union, and Kim Il -ong, North Korea, and in the bronze medal Reiner pitchfork. In 1992, he was also at the Olympic Games in Barcelona at the start. He fought it with wins over Romica Rasovan, Francisco Jairez Sanchez Parra, Spain, Chen Zheng Bin, China, Tserenbataat Chosbayar, Mongolia and Tim Vanni, United States, reached the final before, in which he but against his North Korean compatriot Kim Il lost and had to return home with the silver medal.

In 1995, Kim Jong -shin recorded then again a great success, as viewed from Uzbekistan and Hossein Karim won the title at the Asian Championships in Manila flyweight before Ibadow corn from Iran. He started this year again at the World Championship in Atlanta, was there but only to 14th place.
