Kincade (band)

John Kincade ( born June 25, 1946 in Southport, Merseyside, England, actually John Knowles ) was a famous pop singer in the 1970s.

Life and work

In the 1960s he started in London as a pop singer. During a tour through Spain, where he performed for a local hotel chain in tourist places, an employee of the then successful record labels " Penny Farthing " was aware of him.

The under the name " Kincade " published in November 1972 hit single Dreams Are Ten A Penny (D # 2 ) was contrary to the widespread opinion nothing to do with Knowles. " Kincade " was designed by the singer, songwriter and producer John Carter Studio project. When the song became a hit in Europe, the team studied, which also includes producer Larry Page was merely a mime for stage and television appearances. Since Knowles, however, a singing career and sought his songs also wanted to sing himself, he declined the offer. The under contract with Penny Farthing as "Octopus" musician Paul and Nigel Griggs and Rick Williams eventually took over all under the name " Kincade " singles released the job. Given his success in Germany John Kincade took up residence there. In 1976, Knowles first moved completely out of the music business and went to Sweden. There he runs a school for pop singing.

With growing since the early 1990s "Seventies - Revival" came John Kincade hang now lives in Sweden to Germany and could use some old hits new. His repertoire with oldies events today include the original English version of Dreams Are Ten a Penny.
