King's Cross Thameslink railway station

King's Cross Thameslink was a train station on the Pentonville Road in the London Borough London Borough of Camden. He lay on the underground in this area extending Thameslink route and was served by trains of the company First Capital Connect. A 600 -meter long pedestrian tunnel linking King's Cross Thameslink to King's Cross with the main station and the underground station King's Cross St. Pancras.

Situated in the Travelcard Zone 1 station was located partially on that land, the first subway station of the Metropolitan Railway was opened on 10 January 1863. 1868, the station was expanded to four tracks. The new track pair, the Widened Lines, served the suburban traffic of other railway companies in the City of London and was also part of the north-south connection through the Snow Hill tunnel. 1941 transferred to the station of the Metropolitan Line (now also the Circle Line and the Hammersmith & City Line ) further to the west, while the trains of British Rail until 1979 continued to use the original station. In 1983 the re-opening as King's Cross Midland City, in 1988 renamed the King's Cross Thameslink.

As part of the second phase of the Channel Tunnel Rail Link was created under the St Pancras railway station, a new Thameslink station. This provides much better connections to the two main train stations and can accommodate longer trains. On December 9, 2007 King's Cross Thameslink was closed and the new station went into operation. The pedestrian tunnel from the former station entrance to the subway station remains open from Monday to Friday.
