The Kings Highway is a highway in the southeast of the Australian state of New South Wales and to the east of the Australian Capital Territory. It combines the Australian capital Canberra with the Princes Highway, Batemans Bay on the coast of New South Wales.

Course

The road begins as Canberra Avenue on Capital Hill in the center of the capital and leads to the southeast. Between the districts of Fyshwick and Symonston it crosses the Monaro Highway ( R23) and the border into New South Wales, after they reached the city of Queanbeyan.

There the Kings Highway turns to the east-northeast and passes through the settlements Bungendore and Doughboy. In Doughboy the road turns southeast and crosses the ridgeline of the Great Dividing Range. About Braidwood she runs past the Clyde Mountain and separates the Budawang National Park in the north and the Monga National Park and the Clyde River National Park in the south. It crosses the River Clyde in Nelligen and then falls to the coast at the seaside resort Batemans Bay, where it meets the Princes Highway (R1 ) and ends.
