Kladno District
Okres Kladno is a district in Středočeský kraj, Czech Republic. The area is a part of the Bohemian Massif ( Český masiv ) and slightly hilly. The highest point is Vysoký vrch to Malé Kyšice (486 m above sea level. M. ). The district is known as the deposit of coal.
With 720 km ² it is one of the smaller districts in the county. In 100 communities in 92 districts of 152,000 people. In the eight cities of Kladno, Libušín, Slany, Stochov, Unhošť, Velvary, Smečná and Buštěhrad 67% of the region's population. The average age is 39.8 years with a national average.
The economic strength has been determined in the past by coal mining and steel production, the region's largest in the 1990s greatly decreased.
