Klobuky

Klobuky ( German hat, formerly Klobuk ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers north-west of Slany and belongs to Okres Kladno.

Geography

Klobuky is located in the Central Bohemian plateau at the confluence of Zlonicky Potok brook in the Žerotínský. Through the town the railway from Prague leads to Most. North of Peruc stands near the road to Telce the Petrified shepherd. In the south there is the pond Cukrovarský rybnik.

Neighboring towns are Vrbičany in the north, and Čeradice Moráň in the east, in the southeast Kobylníky, Třebíz in the south, and Hořešovice Hořešovičky in the southwest, and Pacov Kokovice in the west and Telce in the northwest.

History

Klobuky was first mentioned as a possession of the monastery Doxan documented in the year 1226. At the beginning of the 14th century there was a division of the town, held a share of the Cathedral Chapter of St. Vitus in Prague. The other belonged to the landed gentry, who built a fortress in Klobuky. 1352 was the first mention of the parish church in a papal directory. The place was a Vladikensitz since 1355. To the owners of the secular component included, inter alia, the lords of Bražkov and Lukov that Klobuky from 1388 possessed.

During the Hussite Wars, the location near the village Slany Kalixtinerhochburg was Hussite. The recatholicization was 1669. 1848 Klobouky became an independent municipality in the district Slany, which included the village Kobylníky. At the end of the 19th century was a major sugar factory. In 1961 the municipalities Kokovice and Palecek was incorporated with the district Čeradice.

Community structure

The municipality consists of the villages Klobuky Čeradice ( Tscheraditz ) Klobuky ( hat), Kobylníky ( Kobilnik ) Kokovice ( Kokowitz ) and Palecek (small Paletsch ) and the monolayer Moráň.

Attractions

  • The Petrified shepherd ( Zkamenělý pastýř ), and Stone Man ( Kamenný muž ) is a menhir, which was probably erected in Celtic times. The 3.50 m high and consists of brown-gray sandstone rock is north of the town
  • Church of St. Lawrence in Klobuky, which is located on a hill above the town and demonstrable since 1352 church acquired its present appearance in transforming 1729-1736
  • Church of the Visitation in Palecek, built in 1776, the building is currently in a state of neglect

Personalities

  • Jindřich Šimon Baar worked as a chaplain in Klobuky, he built a new rectory
  • In the cemetery there is the grave lay the Malypetr family, it is the final resting place of the Czechoslovak Minister Minister Jan Malypetr (1873-1947) and his father, the co-founder of the Sokol movement, Josef Malypetr (1828-1900)
  • The poet Karel Toman was born in Kokovice
  • The Slovak poet Ivan Basko worked as a chemist in the sugar factory.
