Positioning and criticism

Music style

Because of its color and music program mix to Classic Radio of the numerous classical waves of the ARD and the Germany radio, whose music programs traditionally have the character of " serious music " is different. In contrast, no complete sentences or works at Classic Radio played but merely set cutouts. These are deliberately chosen so that overall, a better transparency of the original program. In addition, the transmitter of the (classical) film music grants during the day and especially at night a relatively large space. Probably the biggest difference to other classical transmitters, however, when (at night) played lounge music. Overall, Classic Radio borders with this program concept aware of other classical transmitters and applies thus targeted to a relatively young audience aged 30 and older.

These differences are frequently cited by supporters of public music programs as criticisms of classical music radio. The format of the station is regarded by them as one of the causes for program reforms in the system of public cultural programs in recent years, which would have led to improved audibility in conjunction with a reduced "seriousness " of the program routes during the day sent. In the course of this, the moderation styles of public classical music station had changed in not laudable manner.
