Klaus Heidegger

Klaus Heidegger ( born August 19, 1957) is a former Austrian alpine skier. From the second half of the 1970s he was a member for several years to the best giant slalom and slalom skiers in the ski world cup. After his athletic career, he built the U.S. cosmetics company Kiehl's success to become a renowned brand.

Biography

Heidegger grew up with his siblings on a farm in Götzens / Axams (Tirol ). After leaving school he served an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk.

The first international success as a skier Heidegger achieved the second place in the slalom at the Junior European Championships 1973 in Ruhpolding. From 1975 until his retirement in late 1986 he was one of the most successful alpine skier of the Austrian Ski Federation ( Austrians ). Throughout his career, he scored five World Cup victories (two giant slaloms, three slaloms ) and another nine podiums. Overall, he was also placed 49 times in the top ten.

With a training he met his future wife Jami ( e) Morse know. After the wedding and the retirement from competitive sports, he acquired 50 % of the company his father Aaron Morse, a small specialized in natural cosmetics pharmacy in New York. In the following years he worked himself into the store and mixed moisturizers. In 1989 he took over the business entirely, developed new brands, invested in marketing and formed from Kiehl's is a global company. He later sold it to the French cosmetics company L' Oreal.
