Klaus Tscheuschner

Klaus Tscheuschner ( born October 22, 1956 in Bielefeld) was from January 2005 to January 2011 Mayor of the city of Flensburg.

Education and work

After graduating from Bosse- secondary school in Bielefeld in 1972 Klaus Tscheuschner was training in the mid- civil service in the city of Bielefeld, where he worked in various areas by 1992. In 1979 he reached the university entrance at night school Bielefeld. Subsequently, he studied until 1989 at the University School of Public Administration of North Rhine- Westphalia and the Academy of Public Administration of East Westphalia -Lippe. 1992/93 was Tscheuschner lecturer at the Institute of Local Government Study of Brandenburg, before returning as a personal assistant to the Town Clerk in his hometown Bielefeld.

Public offices

From 1995 to 2003 Tscheuschner was without a party mayor of the town of Burg on Fehmarn and strongly advocated a merger of towns and villages on the island of Fehmarn to a single city. This goal was achieved on 1 January 2003 with the founding of the city of Fehmarn. When performed by the Schleswig -Holstein newspaper publishing election, he was chosen for a local politician of the year 2002.

On 14 November 2004, he was elected as a candidate of the CDU in the second ballot with 59.5 % of the vote to the new Lord Mayor of the city of Flensburg. A position he took up in January 2005, and practiced there until January of 2011. He was succeeded by Simon Faber ( SSW).

Family

Klaus Tscheuschner is married and has two daughters.

Volunteering

From 1997 to 2003 he was Chairman of the Baltic Sea Spa Association Schleswig-Holstein. He was also a deputy for several years chairman of the Tourism Association of Schleswig -Holstein.
