Klaus Volk

Klaus Volk ( born April 29, 1944 in Coburg ) is a German legal scholar, professor and criminal defense attorney.

Life

After studying at the University of Munich from 1963 to 1968 people was a research assistant of his PhD Paul Bockelmann. People in 1970 received his doctorate on the basis of a thesis on the philosophy of law in the early 20th century. In 1972 he passed the state exam. 1977 and his habilitation in the subjects of Criminal Law, Criminology and Legal Theory.

After working in Erlangen and Constance 1980 he took the chair at the Department of Criminal Law, White Collar Criminal Defense Law and Criminal Procedure at the University of Munich. There he was in 1989/90 also Dean of the Faculty of Law. 2003 awarded him the Italian Urbino University honorary doctorate.

Activity

The priorities of the people of scientific work are mainly on the study of national and international economic criminal law and criminal procedural law. Public attention was his work as a criminal defense lawyer Josef Ackermann in the so-called Mannesmann trial and Boris Becker in the criminal tax proceedings.
