Klein Lukow is part of the city Penzlin in the district Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ).

Geography

Klein Lukow located in the Mecklenburg Lake District, west of the Tollense. The environment is characterized by fields, woods and the 6.3 acre small Lukower lake. The city Penzlin is about six kilometers from Klein Lukow.

History

The place name Lukow indicates that the original Slavic settlement back and could be derived from the old Slavic locator Luka, ie "place of Luka ". The formerly independent municipality Klein Lukow had with its districts Carl Stone, small and large Lukow Lukow 31 December 2009, 247 inhabitants in an area of 14.13 km ². On 1 January 2011 it was incorporated into the city Penzlin.
