History

Designed in 1940, the aircraft was in a constructive basis of the Klemm Kl Kl 105 The 107 is also a cantilever low- wing monoplane of all- wood shell construction part constructively reinforced with rigid normal chassis and comparison to the connector 105, enlarged and equipped with powerful engines. Moreover, even flaps were installed. The two-man crew sitting side by side in an enclosed cabin. As a drive with 105 hp Hirth HM 500 is a four-cylinder inline engine. The first flight mid- 1939, with the July 5, 1939 Klemm's chief pilot Helmut limestone with the V1 ( D- EXCL ) crashes because of wing breakage due to defects in materials and thereby lost his life. Due to the war only six pieces were made of ordered 20 aircraft until 1941.

After the Second World War, a resumption of production in 1954 between Louis Bölkow and Hans Jürgen Klemm excited. The first of these Kl 107A (yet identical with the original machine ) had its first flight on September 4, 1956. 1959 was followed by the modified and now three seater Klemm Kl 107B in wood construction with 110 kW Lycoming O -320 engine, the series (26 pieces) was made by the newly formed daughter Bölkow apparatus nabern GmbH. Since the rights to Bölkow had passed, they developed this further and so came a short time later, the Kl 107C on the market. This had a wider chassis, a wider fuselage, a variable pitch propeller and could be equipped with a device for towing gliders. To 1961 were built only 29 pieces, which had its reasons in the outdated wood construction and the cramped cabin. In order to improve the paragraph was 1958/59 developed from the Kl 107D 107C ( an even larger four-seater with a more powerful engine ), which practically constituted a redesign. The prototype with Lycoming O- 360A four-cylinder engine with 132 kW was renamed on October 10, 1960 in nabern its first flight in May 1961 and was only in Bölkow F207 and then in July 1961 in Bölkow Bo 207. That same year, the second prototype and the first production aircraft of the Bo 207 took part in the Germany flight.
