The terminal L25 was a plane of light Klemm GmbH. The factory designation L25 was changed in 1930 with the introduction of RLM designations in Kl 25.

History

The L25 was an evolution of Daimler L20, as Hanns Klemm 1926 independently made himself, was renamed Klemm L20. Like the L20 was that airplane a cantilever low- wing monoplane of wooden construction and in 1927 developed under the responsibility of Robert Lussier. The main difference to the L20 was the use of more powerful engines, which necessitated a revision of the forest. In addition, the now rounded hull was completely covered with plywood, whereby the weight of the aircraft increased substantially.

Depending on the model, the take-off weight was 620-720 kg, the range varied from 10.5 to 13 meters. This gives a wing loading of 32 kg/m2 yields at 650 kg take-off mass and about 36 kg/m2 at 720 kg. The take-off velocity was depending on the model between 55 and 60 km / h top speed 150-160 km / h

Relative to conventional aircraft, this time, the clamp structure was very easy. After a promotional material of the clamping works his machine took about 25 % of the engine power to keep the KL25 in the air, similar biplane required to 50% of engine power.

The KL25 was built in 1928-1939 in 30 different designs and improved again and again delivered with engines from 32 kW/40 hp to 70 kW/95 hp. Already in 1929 was the development Klemm L 26 In addition to some special versions with floats, snow sled and stub wings there was with the VL25 also a three-seat variant, in which the two passengers sat forward. In total, around 600 examples were built. She was the first German standard training aircraft and was already retired during the Second World War and scrapped for the most part, so that today few airworthy examples only have been preserved.

The aircraft was produced from 1933 at the British clamp Aeroplane Company as British clamping Swallow under license.
