KÅ‚opot, Lubusz Voivodeship

Kłopot ( German Kloppitz ) is a village in the municipality Cybinka in Słubicki powiat in Poland. The place is located on the German -Polish border. Kłopot has about 170 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Kłopot, also referred to as stork village, located about 2 km east of the Oder. On the opposite side is German or ironworks city. The nearest large towns on the Polish side are Cybinka (about 11 km), Słubice (approx. 26 km), Zielona Góra (approx. 60 km) and Gorzów Wielkopolski (approx. 77 km).

History

The settlement was first mentioned in 1350 in a charter of Louis V.. It was later passed on to the Margrave of Brandenburg, which then ultimately gave to the Order of St. John. There were plans Kłopot with the Lusatian town of Fürstenberg (now part of ironworks city) to be connected via a bridge.

Early 20th century, such a bridge was actually built; Construction was completed in 1919. However, it was blown up on February 4, 1945 by the German Wehrmacht, the Red Army in the Vistula-Oder operation reached the river.

After the Second World War Kłopot went along with the Neumark to Poland.
