Kobierzyce

Kobierzyce ( German: Koberwitz, 1937-45 Rößlingen ) is a village and also the seat of the eponymous municipality in the powiat of Wroclaw Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland.

Geography

Kobierzyce is located in the Silesian Lowland on the European road 67 to the nearest links to the A4 motorway is ten kilometers away. There also the northern boundary of the municipality to which the city of Wroclaw connects runs.

History

The first documentary mention of the place Cobliwiz comes from a document of the Wroclaw Duke Henry III. from the year 1257th Already in 1333 appeared with the Good Koberwitz, which until 1937 valid location name.

In Koberwitz the railway line opened in 1898 on Schönberg Bankwitz branched off after Heider village of the 1885 opened railway line Wroclaw Stroebel. Through the village led the national route 116 ( Wroclaw Glatz ).

The manor belonged to the large sugar factory in Klettendorf in Wroclaw, which until 1945 under the name renamed " Vom Rath, Schoeller & Skene ".

As a result of World War II Koberwitz 1945 as almost all of Silesia was lost to Poland and was renamed in Kobierzyce.
