Kogepan

Kogepan (Japaneseこげぱん) is a fictional character and a franchise the Japanese company San-X, which is marketed among other things, in the form of books, an anime television series and toys.

The figure, the subject of the franchise, is a baked on the oven Anpan, a Japanese stuffed with bean paste white bread. Therefore, the name derives from the Japanese words kogeru ( burnt ) and pan ( bread). In addition to the burnt bread Kogepan enter into the plot, which takes place in a bakery, also other back works.

Content

A Anpan is baked in a bakery in Hokkaido and is looking forward to become one of the most delicious breads of the store. But it falls back upon removal of the bread in the oven too long and is 30 minutes therein. Finally, it comes out with a black crust and is teased by the other baked goods at the store because of its appearance. So it runs away and lives for a while on the road. When it returns to the bakery and a self-help book reads, it summarizes new courage and befriends soon with other burnt baking works. But it will never be sold because of his condition.

Anime television series

2001 produced the Studio Pierrot an anime television series with Kogepan. Under director Shuichi Ohara, there are ten four minutes long consequences. The music was composed by Takeshi Yasuda and the designs are from Takahashi Miki. The first broadcast of the series took place from November 5 to November 16, 2001, Animax in Japan.

Reception

In The Anime Encyclopedia 's work is compared to Anpanman. It will bring as opposed to this but a tragic aspect to the " bakery " theme one, its proper destination, the bread never meet. The franchise was relatively successful, but do not achieve the notoriety of similar figures Tarepanda and Hello Kitty by far.

The franchise has been licensed in the Republic of China and South Korea.
