Futahaguro Koji (Japanese双 羽 黒 光 司, born August 12, 1963 in Tsu, Mie Prefecture as Koji Kitao (北 尾 光 司) ) is a former Japanese sumo wrestler and the 60th yokozuna.

Futahaguro, who took initially under his real name, was a fighter of the barn Tatsunami - Beya and 1.99 m height a giant. At the age of 15 he began his career in the lowest division of the Japanese Profisumō, the Jonokuchi. His fight name or Shikona, he only accepted as a yokozuna is a combination of the name of the yokozuna Futabayama and Haguroyama.

After a success in Kyushu Basho 1985, in which he successfully fought his twelfth victory against the eventual Yokozuna Hokutoumi, Futahaguro was promoted to ozeki. Already in the following July, he was convicted despite a defeat in the decisive battle against Chiyonofuji worthy to bear the title of yokozuna - although he could not place a tournament victory in the Makuuchi division up to that time and even later. Already in December 1987 and at the age of only 24 years Futahaguro stepped back and returned not only the active sumo, but also the Sumōverband the back. This was, however, under pressure of the Association itself, after it became known that Futahaguro had attacked the wife of his Oyakata.

After his forced departure from the sumo world Futahaguro put down his name and tried to fight in 1990 as the third yokozuna after Azumafuji and Wajima his luck in wrestling. In 1998 he resigned from active sports. 2003 invited the then - Tatsunami oyakata Futahaguro to cooperation. However, this is primarily to be understood as an affront to its predecessor, with whom he was in various disputes.
