Kołbacz

Kołbacz ( German Kolbatz until 1910 Colbatz ) is a village in the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship and is part of the rural community Stare Czarnowo (Neumark in Pomerania ) in a circle Gryfino ( Pommern ).

Geographical location

Kołbacz, the old monastery village on the Płonia ( Płonia ) is located two kilometers east of Wzgórza Bukowe ( Buchheide ) and three kilometers west of the Jezioro Miedwie ( Madüsee ). Through the village leads the province road 120, the county seat Gryfino ( Greifenhagen, along Route 31) Stare Czarnowo (Neumark, along Route 3, former German Empire Road 112) and Kobylanka ( Kublank, along Route 10, former National Highway 104) connects. The nearest train station is nine kilometers away Reptowo ( Caroline Horst ) on the PKP railway Poznań - Szczecin. The 1898 -built narrow gauge railway track Greifenhagener orbits of Finkenwalde (now Polish: Szczecin - Zdroje ) by Neumark (Stare Czarnowo ) with a stop in Kolbatz has ceased operations after 1945.

By Kołbacz the attractive tourist Szlak Cystersów leads ( Cistercian road).

History

The history of the village Kołbacz is naturally closely connected with the history of the monastery Kolbatz. In 1173 founded Wartislaw Swantiboricz, Castellan of Stettin, the Cistercian abbey " Mera Vallis " in Madanzigwald. A year later a convent of twelve monks and twelve lay brothers Reinhold under Abbot of the Monastery Esrom on Zealand in a Kolbatz. 1535 the monastery was a ducal domain, and the monastery building itself could be set up as a hunting lodge, the Dukes still in the 16th century. The monastery church became a parish church of the village.

From 1637 to 1673 Kolbatz was a part of Swedish Pomerania. After the Swedish era war council Sydow was farmer-general of Kolbatz. 1811 bought Amtsrat Gaede it, and in 1816 the Privy Counselor Friedrich Wilhelm Krause was owner. Thereafter, the State Kolbatz bought back, and the domain has been leased.

By 1945 Kolbatz belonged to the district Greifenhagen in the district of Stettin Prussian province of Pomerania. It formed with the communities Heidchen, Hofdamm, Neumark and Seelow the District Kolbatz. While the registry office itself was established in Kolbatz to the tax office and district court were in the county town Greifenhagen.

After 1945 Kolbatz became Polish under the name Kołbacz and is today a district of Gmina Stare Czarnowo in powiat Gryfiński in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship (Stettin 1975-1998 Voivodeship ). The population grew until 1970 and now stands at 440 to 1400.

Church

Kirchen-/Pfarrgemeinde

Since the Reformation, the St. Mary's Monastery Church is the parish church of the village. The population was predominantly Protestant denomination until 1945. Kolbatz was " United mother church " to Neumark (now Polish: Stare Czarnowo ), where the parish had its headquarters. For parish Neumark also still part of the church community Dobberphul ( Dobropole Gryfińskie ), long time also Seelow ( Żelewo ).

In 1940, belonged to the parish church members Kolbatz 770 of 2060 in the whole parish. She was part of the church district Kolbatz ( last seat in Neumark ) in the West Ward of the Church of the Province of Pomerania Church of the Old Prussian Union. Since 1945, the vast majority of the population of Kołbacz Catholic denomination. The parish church, until then, more than 400 years of Protestant church was rededicated on 20 October 1945 and since then bears the name " Kościół pw Najświętszego Serca Pana Jezusa ". Branch churches are Dębina ( Hofdamm ) and Żelewo ( Seelow ). Today living here evangelical church members belong to the parish of Holy Trinity Church in Stettin in the Diocese of Wrocław by the Polish Evangelical-Augsburg Church.

Church Circle / Dean's Office

The Protestant church circle Kolbatz which existed until 1945, comprised about the area of the former monastery villages both in the district Greifenhagen as well as in the district of Pomerania. There were in 1940 a total of 16 parishes whose incumbents served 36 parishes with a total of 24,262 church members.

After 1945, the Catholic Church built in Poland the deanery Kołbacz that belongs to the Archdiocese of Szczecin - Pomerania. He associated the six parishes Bielice ( Beelitz ) Kobylanka ( Kublank ) Kołbacz, Ryszewko (small Rischow ), Stare Czarnowo (Neumark ) and Zabow ( Sabow ).
